05.10 10:44 AM | College Exploration Workshop at Penn May 21, 2016

The University of Pennsylvania is having a College Exploration Workshop on Saturday, May 21, 2016 from 10am-2pm. This event is open to HS Juniors and Sophomores, parents, and Counselors.

The Ivy in Your Backyard workshop series offers students and families an opportunity to explore the college process through interactive workshops and discussions with members of the Penn community and special guests with expertise in the field. Our programming is designed to help students and families navigate the college search and application process at key points of the year.

College Exploration will focus on starting the college search process. With over 3,500 colleges and universities across the United States, finding the ones that are the right fit can feel overwhelming. At this workshop, you will hear advice from Admissions professionals on what to consider as you begin your college search, key questions to ask as you craft your list of the best colleges for you, and some tools to help you get started on this exciting journey. Parents and counselors, who are also welcome, will then have the opportunity to learn about financial aid and how to make a college education affordable, while the juniors hear from current college students about their experiences. Lunch will be provided.

The Ivy in Your Backyard College Exploration Workshop will run from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m., with programming for high school juniors, parents, and school/CBO counselors.

To Register , please visit Please visit our Ivy in Your Backyard website (www.admissions.upenn.edu/ivyinyourbackyard) for further details, and note that this workshop is designed to support all students in the college application process, and not only those who may have an interest in Penn. Program content will not focus on Penn specifically.
